About Luke
Title: Director
Bio: Luke Beekman has lived in downtown Mansfield since 2011 and founded the non-profit Mankind Murals Inc in 2015. Helping to raise the profile of public arts in Mansfield and create new opportunities for art, Luke has been honored by his community with recognition such as Richland Young Professionals Top 10 under 40 and for community art projects the Take Pride Earth Stewardship Award in the City of Mansfield. Luke began working independently full time as a painter and muralist in 2020 and is the Chair of the Mansfield Rising Plan: Public Art Initiative, bringing greater focus to public art in downtown Mansfield in 2021. Luke has been involved with the American Red Cross as a board member and volunteer. He has college degrees in Communications Film and Creative Writing from the University of Miami, Florida and participated as a triathlete. Since college, he enjoys running, film making, and composing music for piano.
